Origins of XXL Nutrition

In 2003, a young electrical engineer with a passion for bodybuilding embarked on a journey that would transform not only his life but also that of many athletes. After experiencing stomach issues with conventional protein shakes, he discovered a solution in Germany that marked the beginning of XXL Nutrition. There, a baby food manufacturer used a type of protein that was gentle on his stomach, leading to the creation of a new line of supplements.

The Turning Point

Following a car accident in 2004, our founder needed to recoup his investment. With an empty garage and a bright idea, he began selling those same protein shakes. Their exceptional quality and affordable prices quickly caught the attention of more people, rapidly expanding the popularity of the products.

The Creation of XXL Nutrition Brand

That summer, while relaxing on the beach, the perfect name came to him: XXL Nutrition. The brand was registered and launched at the end of 2004, starting with just 10 products. Initially focused on bodybuilders and cyclists, the brand soon expanded its reach.

Expansion and Growth

From its humble beginnings in a 15m² garage, XXL Nutrition has grown exponentially. Now a market leader in sports nutrition in the Netherlands and Belgium, it offers over 3,500 products and employs 200 people. With a new expansion planned for 2024, XXL Nutrition is set to continue its growth and excellence.
